Mikey Rowlands' Focus RS

Some cars are built to sit pretty.

This isn’t one of them.

Mikey first came to BD Performance back in 2019, looking to unlock more from his Mk2 Focus RS. Like many, it started simple — more power, better response, more fun.

The first step was a Revo Stage 2 setup, transforming the car into something seriously lively. But as with most performance journeys… it didn’t stop there.

When Things Get Real

In 2020, things took a turn.

After cracking a piston, the decision was made —

not just to fix it, but to build it properly.

The RS underwent a fully forged engine build, turning it into a much stronger and more capable platform. What made this build different was Mikey himself — getting hands-on, learning the process, and documenting everything along the way through YouTube.

This wasn’t just a build.

It was part of a journey.

Stepping It Up – Big Turbo Era

By 2024, the car evolved again.

Out went the smaller setup, and in came a big turbo conversion featuring:

• Garrett GTX3076R

• Tubular manifold

• Supporting hardware to match

This pushed the RS into a completely different league — faster, louder, and far more aggressive.

From Customer to BD

Late 2025 marked another shift.

Mikey joined BD Performance, bringing his experience and passion into the business — working on marketing and social media, while continuing to develop the very car that brought him through the doors in the first place.

The Current Setup – No Compromise

In early 2026, the build levelled up again.

The RS moved to a sidewinder turbo setup, now running:

• Pulsar 3584R turbo

• Custom sidewinder configuration

• Built to chase serious performance

This setup isn’t about subtlety — it’s about presence, sound, and pushing limits.

What makes this RS stand out isn’t just the spec.

It’s how it’s used.

Mikey is known for driving the car exactly how it was built to be driven — hard. No garage queen, no trailer life — just a proper performance car being pushed to its limits.

And he’s open about it.
