Performance
BD Performance was founded in 2009 by Darren and Ben, beginning life in car sales before naturally evolving into bodywork and mechanical repairs. Driven by a genuine passion for performance vehicles, the business quickly grew into a specialist automotive performance brand.
Today, BD Performance operates exclusively from our Wrexham, North Wales workshop, serving customers across the UK and worldwide. Our facility is fully equipped with the latest diagnostic, tuning and rolling road technology, allowing us to deliver reliable, repeatable results across a wide range of performance platforms.
Our experienced technicians specialise in Ford, VAG and BMW vehicles. Using genuine parts and retaining the ability to log main dealer service records, we offer the same level of technical capability as a main dealer — but with a more personal, enthusiast-led and cost-effective approach.

History of BD
Performance
Where It All Began
BD Performance started in 2009 in Unit A at the Minera Building Supplies yard in Coedpoeth, initially selling Ford Fiestas and repairing accident-damaged vehicles. The business soon expanded into Mk2 Focus repairs, bodywork and vehicle spraying, eventually taking on Unit B.
First Major Expansion
The business moved into a larger 5,000 sq ft unit, introducing an engine room, four ramps and a larger spray booth, allowing for more advanced mechanical and performance work.
Wrexham Industrial Estate
BD Performance relocated to Units 19 & 20 on Wrexham Industrial Estate, offering a modern workshop, space for car meets and access to a shared dyno facility.
A Bold New Direction
A move to Unit 102 marked a strategic shift, focusing heavily on Ford Focus ST and RS performance builds.
Setback and Resilience
After moving back to Unit 19, BD Performance suffered an arson attack in January 2016, losing everything.
Rebuilding Stronger
The business restarted in Rhosddu from a 1,200 sq ft unit with three ramps and its own compound, beginning the rebuild process.
The BD Performance You Know Today
BD Performance moved into Unit B, Maesgwyn Road — a 12,000 sq ft facility that remains the company’s home today.
Bigger Builds, Bigger Ambitions
BD Performance began undertaking larger, more complex performance builds, pushing the limits of Ford platforms.
YouTube & the 770bhp Focus ST
The launch of the BD Performance YouTube channel, featuring real workshop content and standout builds such as Nick Simpson’s 770bhp Focus ST.
The 1000bhp Focus RS
Completion of Ceri’s 1000bhp Focus RS, one of BD Performance’s most ambitious projects.
A New Chapter
Return to YouTube with a renewed focus on bigger projects, improved content and the next era of BD Performance, whilst also gaining millions of views across our social media platforms on Reels and TikToks.
New Website
Fully remade new website to bring BD Performance into 2026 with Shopify integration and many more features.
